Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using AltoDocs, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Service Description

AltoDocs is a computational document editor for engineers. You can create, edit, collaborate on, and export engineering calculations and documentation.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Keep your password confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account

4. Your Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all documents and calculations you create.We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited license solely to host, store, and display your content to provide the service.

5. AI Features

AltoDocs offers optional AI assistance powered by third-party AI providers. By using an AI feature you understand and agree that:

  • AI runs on an API key you provide yourself. Your prompt and any content or images you include are sent, under your own account, to the third-party AI provider you connect, which processes the data under its own terms and data location. See our Privacy Policy, section 5.
  • You are responsible for what you submit. Do not enter personal data of other people, or confidential third-party information, into AI features without a lawful basis to do so.
  • AI output is generated automatically, may be incorrect or incomplete, and must be independently verified before use (see section 9).
  • AI features are optional; you can use AltoDocs fully without them.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share account credentials with others
  • Attempt to access, probe, or hack systems or data
  • Use the service for illegal or harmful purposes
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. Third-Party Services

The service relies on third-party providers (for hosting, storage, analytics, email and AI) listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of AI features is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond our role as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance when possible. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Engineering Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Important: AltoDocs is a tool to assist your engineering work. All calculations and outputs must be independently verified by qualified professionals. We are not liable for engineering decisions, structural failures, or any damages arising from reliance on AltoDocs outputs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltoDocs' liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify AltoDocs against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose security risks, with notice when practicable.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Copenhagen, Denmark.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms with 30 days notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
